# iCloud Mail, Calendar and Contacts in Muse > Give Muse your iCloud Mail, Calendar and Contacts without giving it the password. About five minutes from your phone, and free for up to 3 connectors. muse.space wrote this guide, and "we" in it means muse.space. muse.space is an independent project. It is not affiliated with Apple, Meta or any other company whose products it works with. About five minutes, and you can do it all from your phone. You make an app-specific password at Apple and store it here once. Muse gets tools to search and read your mail, check and add events, and look up contacts. It never gets the password. This guide as a web page: https://muse.space/guides/muse ## What you can ask Muse - “What’s on my calendar tomorrow, and does anything clash?” - “Find the lease email from March and tell me what the PDF says about the deposit.” - “Who wrote to me about the school trip, and what do they need from me?” - “What’s Priya’s phone number?” - “Add dinner with Sam on Friday at 7.” This one writes, so it waits until you turn writing on for iCloud Calendar. Reading is on from the start. Sending mail, changing events and editing contacts wait until you turn writing on, connector by connector. ## Four steps, about five minutes ### 1. Make an app-specific password Sign in at [account.apple.com](https://account.apple.com/) and choose **Sign-In and Security**, then **App-Specific Passwords**. Name it `muse.space` and copy the 16 letters Apple shows you. [Open account.apple.com](https://account.apple.com) ### 2. Add it to muse.space [Create an account](https://muse.space/signup) and paste the password. Your browser encrypts it before it is sent, and we check it with Apple. The one password opens Mail, Calendar and Contacts. ### 3. Paste one prompt into Muse At the end of setup we show your agent token, once: copy it. Then paste this prompt into Muse as it is, with nothing to fill in. Muse builds the connection itself. Paste into Muse: ```text Build a custom integration to muse.space. Ask me before any write tool. ``` ### 4. Give Muse the token in its secure box Muse asks for the agent token in its own secure prompt. Paste it there, never into the chat, where it would stay in your history. Then ask Muse what is on your calendar today. ## What stays in your hands - Read tools are on from the start. Every write tool waits for your switch, connector by connector. - Every call Muse makes is in your audit log: which tool, when, and how it went. - Revoke the token Muse holds, and its calls stop within 5 seconds. One switch pauses every agent at once. - Muse never holds the password. Cancel it at Apple and our copy stops working at once. ## Fair things to ask first ### Doesn’t Muse connect to iCloud already? Muse signs in to Gmail and Outlook itself. iCloud Mail, Calendar and Contacts take an app-specific password instead, and an agent is rightly never given a password, so we hold it for Muse. Muse for Mac can read Apple Mail on that Mac while it is awake; this works from your phone, overnight, and for anything you have scheduled. ### Is it safe to give muse.space the password? It is an app-specific password, not your Apple Account password: it opens mail, calendar and contacts and nothing else, and you can cancel it at Apple whenever you like. Your browser encrypts it for our vault before it is sent, and nothing can read it back, not Muse and not you. The [security page](https://muse.space/security) says exactly how. ### Can Muse send mail without asking me? Not unless you turn sending on. The prompt also asks Muse to check with you before anything that writes, and once sending is on we cap it at 50 messages a day unless you change that. ### Is this allowed by Apple? Yes. App-specific passwords are Apple’s supported way for other mail apps to sign in. Ours shows up in your Apple Account like any other, and you can cancel it there at any time without asking us. ### What if I stop halfway? Nothing is lost. Sign in again and setup carries on from the step you were on, and a password you stored stays stored. If you lost the agent token before your agent had it, make a new one: the old one stops working at once. ### What does it cost? Nothing for up to 3 connectors, and a password counts once, so iCloud Mail, Calendar and Contacts are one. Personal, for everything more, is $5 a month or $48 a year. It is not on sale yet, and until it is we give it with codes. ### Can Muse use my other accounts too? Yes. Add Yahoo, Fastmail, Zoho, Gmail or any mailbox that speaks IMAP, a calendar server of your own, or apps like Notion and Linear, and let Muse’s agent token use them. There is nothing new to paste: if Muse does not see the new tools straight away, ask it to look at the muse.space tools again.
