Mail tools

mail.searchSearch mail. Search one folder by sender, recipient, subject, text, date or flags, newest first, without bodies; while code and link hiding is on, terms with digits or URL punctuation miss very recent mail.

Set it up
Three steps, about five minutes
Make an app-specific password
Sign in at account.apple.com (opens in a new tab) and choose Sign-In and Security, then App-Specific Passwords. Name it
muse.spaceand copy the 16 letters Apple shows you.Add it to muse.space
Create an account and paste the password. Your browser encrypts it before it is sent, and we check it with Apple. The one password opens Mail, Calendar and Contacts.
Connect your agent
Each agent has a short guide of its own. None of them ever sees the password.

Rules
Limits you can set
- Sending is off until you turn it on. Then we cap it at 50 messages a day, or whatever number you choose.
- Say who your agent may write to, by address or by whole domain.
- Your agent sends from your iCloud address, or another address the mailbox has, such as one on your own domain.
- New mail is checked every 5 minutes, and waits as a short notice until your agent asks for it. You can turn that off.
Questions
Fair things to ask first
- Is this allowed by Apple?
- Yes. App-specific passwords are Apple’s supported way for other mail apps to sign in. Ours shows up in your Apple Account like any other, and you can cancel it there at any time without asking us.
- Do you keep my mail?
- No. A message passes through our servers in memory for the length of the call, and is never saved or logged. The one thing kept is a short notice that new mail arrived, until your agent has it: the security page lists exactly what it holds.
- Which attachments can my agent read?
- PDFs and Word, Excel and PowerPoint files up to 10 MB, and pictures up to 5 MB. A scanned PDF has no text in it, so your agent is told that rather than left to guess, and a file with a password stays closed.
- Which addresses does it work with?
- You sign in with your iCloud Mail address, one that ends in
@icloud.com,@me.comor@mac.com. Mail sent to an address on your own domain through iCloud+ is in the same mailbox, and your agent can send from that address too once you add it. - What does it cost?
- Nothing for up to 3 connectors, and a password counts once, so iCloud Mail, Calendar and Contacts are one. Personal, for everything more, is $5 a month or $48 a year. It is not on sale yet, and until it is we give it with codes.
